Having parents is a blessing all too well understood by an orphan child. This is a child that has nobody to protect and nurture her, and as a result she is vulnerable to a life of disadvantage and exploitation.
While nothing can replace a lost parent, scholarships can create an opportunity for an orphan child to go to school, make new friends, and become educated. Getting an education is a permanent solution to extreme poverty particularly the kind many orphans face every day. The scholarship ensures that orphan children are able to access the same level of schooling as those whose families can afford to.
